Lehigh University Presidents' Correspondence, 1866-1921

This collection includes letters written to the office of the President (some to the Secretary of the Faculty or the Registrar) between 1866 and 1921. These letters cover many aspects of "Life as President of Lehigh". Also included are sixty one "Letter Books" with the replies from the President in chronological order from 1878 to 1920.

Abstract LEPOCO, the Lehigh-Pocono Committee of Concern, is a non-profit citizens group of approximately 1000 members (as of 2015), based in the Lehigh Valley. Founded in 1965 to oppose the war in Vietnam, LEPOCO's concerns have broadened to include a range of problems that endanger peace and the planet. Lester Bernstein Physical Laboratory Notebook

Abstract

Lester Bernstein graduated from Lehigh University in 1904 with a degree in Civil Engineering. Bernstein, the Civil Engineering Society Treasurer and President, was awarded the Civil Engineering Society Prize in 1902-03. The collection consists of a Physical Laboratory Notebook from his second semester freshman year (Feb. 1901 – Jun. 1901). This notebook includes experiments on the study of thermal expansion, use of a barometer and the study of the principles of movement.

Linderman Family Genealogy Documents (Including Brodhead, Packer, Sayre, Frick Families)

Abstract

An attempt is made to trace the Linderman Family as it is directly associated with Lehigh University. The Lindermans in the United States seemingly trace their ancestry to Jacob von Linderman who came to New York in 1710. He is believed to be a relative of the brother of Margarette Linderman Luther, the mother of the German Reformation religious leader, Martin Luther.
