Three booklets, November 19, 1885 to March 31, 1923
Scope and Contents
The contents of the collection were presented to Lehigh University in archive boxes with a “bookplate” of the autograph Arch Johnston written over the legs of a two-humped camel with Box # ____ and on the bottom of “bookplate” label is printed Janet Johnston Housenick and William D. Housenick Memorial Foundation as identifier on seven of the boxes, the remainder just have Archibald Johnston Papers handwritten on plain labels.

22 x 12.5 x .05 cm rusty-red cardstock cover with printing “The Keystone Pocket Note Book for Students and Reporters No. 330” bold handwriting Arch Johnston Meteorology on top, next page “Written notes on Thursday a week” next page “Arch Johnston Lecture I. Nov. 19, 1885, 14 pages of penciled handwritten notes. 23.5 x 13 x 2 cm paper board booklet mottled black paper with red buckram spine on front cover typed on red-edged white label “Bethlehem Hill-to-Hill Bridge 6-10-18 to 12-15-21” contents are the expenditures made each day with three payments made out of the Hill-to-Hill Bridge Fund held by the E.P. Wilbur Trust Company. Daily accounting of expenditures. Edges of pages are serrated. 23.5 x 13 x 2 cm same as above but lower edge of cover damaged, typed on red-edged label “Bethlehem Hill-to-Hill Bridge 12-19-21 to 3-31-23,” tucked in among pages is a check drawn on the Bethlehem’s Bridge Commission account with payment to the Pennsylvania Power & Light. Contents continue to be daily expenditures of the bridge building.
