Scope and Contents
The contents of the collection were presented to Lehigh University in archive boxes with a “bookplate” of the autograph Arch Johnston written over the legs of a two-humped camel with Box # ____ and on the bottom of “bookplate” label is printed Janet Johnston Housenick and William D. Housenick Memorial Foundation as identifier on seven of the boxes, the remainder just have Archibald Johnston Papers handwritten on plain labels.

28.5 x 23 x 1.5 cm brown cloth binding, paper label with title “L.A. Miksch St. Petersburg Russia”, onion skin paper pages numbered to 245 but only 147 are used, some pages toward the middle and back are badly water stained.Notations and sketches are regarding ship plate measurements. Book is of bound letters that were written by L. A. Miksch to Bethlehem Steel Co. from August 7, 1900 to January 1901 first addressed to R. W. Davenport, Gen’l Supt. BethlehemSteel Co. as “Dear Sir” and the following letters addressed to A. Johnston, Asst.Gen. Supt. as “Dear Arch” The handwriting is in a bold hand. Along with the bound journal is a single letterhead page from the Foundation with notations.
