Scope and Contents
1979? (Letter written in pencil on lined tablet paper) could not find a letter from Priscilla to Sarah dated 11-21-78 but did find one dated 11-21-76, copies are enclosed. Biographical outlines of Capt. Lewis and Capt. John, Capt. Lewis was party to a “shotgun wedding,” Sarah Jane Gardner was Capt. John’s second wife, first wife was Emma Knight, looks forward to the development of “Marblehead Memoir.” Intends to copy Capt. John’s Memo book. (Five pages of photocopies attached deal with Thomas Gardner, John Woodbury, Samuel Swett, Lewis Girdler Swett Jr. and information deals with the Eliza Ann from the High Court of Admiralty, Dodson’s Admiralty Reports, by A. Strahan, 1815.
