1852 February 17 from Marblehead My dear Husband. Mrs. Coombs starts for California in a few days and has offered to take a letter to you. Wife states the Lewis yearns for his Papa, mentions Alice Bray, the ship George E. Webster, Sarah Jane and Richard are well, Richard Dixey got home and left the Elvira and remains home, George Dixey is Aunt Rebecca’s new child, Aunt Hannah Low, Elizabeth had letter from husband in Calcutta, Sam Swett not home yet, Capt. Very’s wife is well, Kimball’s launched a new ship named Hulda Kimball which was damaged on the launch. Wife doesn’t expect husband until May.
