1963 September 25 handwritten letter relates information about Capt. John Girdler’s shortcomings, the Mazeppa gold rush voyage from 1849 to 1851, the family’s intimacy with the Flying Cloud. The writer (can’t read signature) expresses intent to arrange all his old letters chronologically.
