1851 June 25 from Sarah Jane Girdler (Marblehead) to Capt. John Girdler (Bark Mazeppa (San Francisco)) relates receiving his letter of May 15 (see SC MS 0247.01.06.01) write about fire and large number of vessels lost, Mr. Toole says he can’t settle accounts until gets account from Argenti, Elizabeth and Sarah Evans have closed house and gone to live with Mrs. Roundy, has sent another miniature of Lewis by Mrs. Ellen Cressy of the Flying Cloud (see SC MS 0247.01.06.02, 01.11.07). Sarah has placed Richard under the care of Mr. and Mrs. Blasdell’s school at Newton Falls, Mass. Richard Dixey is in London bound to Rio sending Rebecca and Cowell home.
