$10. July 25th 1861. Richmond. VA. In center Woman seated with shield
and Eagle, at lower left Woman with Anchor. Black ink on tan
paper, blank reverse. In left margin is printed in Roman type – Fac-
Simile Confederate Note, in center bottom margin is printed Noyer
& Ludwig Richmond, Va. No serial number. (Excellent condition).
$20. July 25 1861. Richmond, VA. In center Woman on back of running
Deer, lower left seated Indian with pipe, XX upper left and right,
20 lower right. Black and red ink on ivory paper, blank reverse.
In bottom margin printed – Fac-Simile Confederate Note. – Sold
Wholesale and Retail, By S. C. Upham 403 Chestnut Street,
Philadelphia. Serial No. 6430. (Rare note in excellent condition)
$20. September 2nd, 1861. Richmond. In center Woman seated by Globe
with ships in background, at left Indian princess leaning on shield
with spear, at right is a standing blacksmith by forge and beneath figure is printed Southern Bank Note Company. Black and red ink, blank reverse, ivory paper. At left margin in Roman type – Fac-Simile Confederate Note. At upper right beneath 20 in italic type – New Orleans. No serial number. (Excellent condition).
$20. September 2nd 1861. Richmond, VA. In center Three-masted sailing
ship, at lower left Standing sailor by capstan. Black ink on ivory
paper, blank reverse. In center bottom margin printed in italic Fac-
Simile Rebel Note, above is printed Hoyer & Ludwig Richmond, Va.
Serial Number written in red ink No. 20615. (Excellent Condition).
$50. September 2nd 1861. Richmond, VA. In center Woman seated by a
Chest, steam train in background, at lower left Two Sailors, lower
right large L. Black ink on ivory, blank reverse. In left margin in
Roman type – Fac-Simile Confederate Note, in lower margin printed
Hoyer & Ludwig Richmond, VA. No serial number. (Excellent
Condition).
$100. September 2d 1861. Richmond, VA. In center wagon being loaded
with bales (ten spoked wagon wheels – genuine note has only seven
spokes), lower left Standing sailor with anchor, bale and sectant.
Black ink on ivory, blank reverse. Printed in left margin in Roman
type – Fac-Simile Confederate Notes, in lower center margin Hoyer
& Ludwig Richmond VA. No serial number. (Excellent condition)
$5. September 2, 1861. Richmond. In center Sailor seated by bales with
ships in background, at right Standing figure of Justice with seated
woman, lower left masculine bust with B. Duncan. In bottom
margin printed in italic – Fac Simile Confederate Note. Black ink
on ivory, blank reverse. No serial number. (Excellent condition)

$.05 cents October 4th, 1861. Winchester, Virginia. In center Plow, Scythe,
Sheaf of Wheat, beneath is Corporation of Winchester, at left Cupid
on cloud. Lower right corner printed Ridenour Pr. No. 150. Black
ink on tan onionskin paper, blank reverse. In bottom margin is

one with sword striking at another woman separated by an eagle, at

and six cars in distant is steam ship, at lower left is Standing
woman with basket on head. Black ink on ivory paper. Printed in
left margin Fac Simile Confederate Note. Lower bottom left margin
printed J.T. Paterson, Columbia, S.C. (Excellent condition)
$20. February 17th 1864. Series 4. Richmond. In center Tennessee State
Capitol building, at lower right bust of Alexander Stephens. No.
56809. Black ink on pink paper, on reverse is printed in black: This
is presented to You in order to impress on your mind the fact that Dr. Morse’s Indian Root Pills …. W.H. Comstock, Sole Propietor, Morristown, St. Lawrence Co., N.Y. Over this printed statement is a purple ink Stamp – H.A. Burkhart, Successor to E.H. Luckenbach, Druggist and Apothecary. 5(?) Broad Street, Bethlehem, Penna.
