1965 March 30 from Pierce to Miller re: response to Miller letter of March 26 (not in 2015 cataloging) area is possibly condemned by new highway. Pierce is involved in negotiating with Highway Dept. for surface acreage and waiting for appraisal. Pierce feels that Pagnotti is not interested in mining the Franklin Colliery but wants it so the Highway Dept. can award a settlement to Pagnotti. If Pagnotti abandons Franklin then taxes would not be paid and those holding the Franklin lease will have to decide how to dispose of the land.
