Biographical / Historical

John F. Kennedy, the 35th President of the United States, was assassinated on November 22, 1963 in Dallas, Texas. President Kennedy and his wife were riding with Texas Governor John Connelly in a motorcade. As the motorcade passed the Texas School Book Depository, a sniper shot and killed President Kennedy and wounded the Governor. The sniper was identified as Lee Harvey Oswald who two days after the assassination was himself killed by Jack Ruby. The nature of the assassination motivated the Warren Commission investigation which eventually determined a single assassin rather than a conspiracy plot.
