Biographical / Historical

John Louis Gallus Weysser graduated from Lehigh University with B.S. in 1931 and he finished his E. M. (mining engineering) in 1937 in the same institution. He worked as mining engineer and gained intensive experience in developing new mining methods and improving operational practices in the field. He worked as operation manager in Pennsylvania Anthracite Fields and thought mining engineering courses in universities. During the World War II, was chief of the coal mining section of the War Production Board, administering supply of materials and equipment in the entire coal mining industry. After 1951 he was a consulting engineer and worked for several Pennsylvania mining companies; United Nations Korean Reconstructing Agency on the rehabilitation and expansion of the anthracite mining industry; Management of Korean Government Coal Corporation, and was mineral advisor to Government of Pakistan.
