Biographical / Historical
The Lehigh-Lafayette rivalry began in 1884 and during the early seasons, the football game was played in a season more than one game as was the case in later years. The more frequent games in a season resulted in the celebrating the 150th rivalry game in 2014 rather than in 2015 when Lehigh University celebrated its 150th anniversary of founding by Asa Packer in 1865. Of course, the first class of students entered the University in 1866.
