1976 May 29 letter discusses where the Girdlers originated, Girdler and Howard Fitch, the Stacey connection, Ann Lipscomb who married Samuel Oldham, John Lipscomb who married Dinah MackGehee, a daughter of Thomas MackGehee alias for James MacGregor, who fled Scotland to save his life, James was son of Patrick MacGregor, chief of the Gregor clan. This information comes from The Lipscomb Genealogy by J.W. Lipscomb, published in 1959 and mainly about the South Carolina Lipscombs.
