Lehigh has shown Lafayette how to support a football team, The University library has received a large invoice of very valuable French works, among which: Stephano’s “Thesarus Graecae Linguae” in eight large folio volumes, the works of Fresnel in three large quartos, complete set of L’Art to 1886, “Biographie Universelle.” Bouillet’s “Dictionaire D’Histoire et de Geographie,” “Ecole des Ponts et Chaussées”... and many engineering works - 187 volumes and over 250 pamphlets in the invoice; hospitality at Miss Mary Naylor’s house; [special marked paragraph] The sophomores put up a Christmas tree in the University Chapel for the benefit of the freshmen. The tree was suspended from the center of the roof and resisted the most determined efforts of the Janitor to remove it.
