The newspaper features photographs of Bethlehem from the mid-1800s to 1991. Articles detail the growth of the city from its Moravian origins to the present. Famous residents, churches, and music from the two and a half centuries of Bethlehem are all examined.

“The Globe Times Celebrates: Bethlehem 250th Anniversary”

The newspaper details the history of Bethlehem in separate issues, each corresponding to a different year interval (1846 - 1865, 1866 - 1929, 1930 - 1945, 1946 - 1991) and were released once per week. Details of the growth of the city when the Moravian Church began selling land and the rise of the steel industry at the inception of The Bethlehem Steel Company. Life around Bethlehem is described in each time period, most notably World War II.

“The Globe Times Celebrates: Bethlehem 250th Anniversary”

There is a map printed on the front of the paper depicting Bethlehem as it was in 1783. The issues featured describe the growth and life in Bethlehem from its inception in 1741. The issues were released weekly and the issues contained in this folder contain the issues for the time intervals of 1741 - 1775 and 1776 - 1845. These issues detail the settlement and struggles faced in the first decades of the city and delineate the lives of people in the Moravian community.

The newspaper celebrates the centennial of Fountain Hill. It details its history since its founding by Tinsley Jeter. The Fountain Hill history and community is described throughout its lifetime with examples of its residents and tourist attractions.

The newspaper features articles on the history of the Globe Times and those who worked there. It also contains a section on the history and current news of the Bethlehem Steel Company. Bethlehem steel, at this point, was beginning to eliminate jobs and refused to modernize. The paper also addresses the history and recent updates of Bethlehem institutions such as Lehigh University and St. Luke’s Hospital.

Section of The Express Times newspaper is a timeline of local and national events that had major influence on the people who lived in the Lehigh Valley. The timeline runs from 5 November 1855, the day of the first published issue of The Express Times to 5 November 2005, their 150th anniversary.
