Three semesters Lehigh students of Prof. Kim Carrell-Smith’s who conducted interviews 2006 to 2010 with a number of people recalling various traditions held in an assortment of churches of South Bethlehem as well as the social fabric of an ethnic community. Interesting personal observations of life in South Bethlehem in the days before the demise of Bethlehem Steel, ethnic foods, retail stores and the closing or consolidation of many of the ethnic churches.

Lillian Horvath (four boxes) South Bethlehem Historical Society (subset) Lillian Dorothy Horvath was president of the Murska Sobota-Bethlehem Sister Cities Association in the 1990’s and made a trip to Murska Sobota, Slovenia in early 1990s which seems to be the source for the contents of Box No. 2. This material was donated to Professors John Smith and Kim Carrell-Smith by Lillian’s niece in 2012 upon Lillian’s death.
