Engineering Field Books 1893-1910
Interesting examples of engineering calculations and observations before the age of computers. Some books have calculations recording the Lehigh River flow and flood stages as well as New York City engineering works at the turn of the twentieth century.
Gold Discoveries Scrapbook 1848-1852
A fascinating collection of nineteenth century published information about gold discoveries, mining, economical influence and transportation around the world. Anything anyone wanted or needed to know about gold is included in the newspaper articles glued to the pages of the scrapbook. Whoever took the time to collect the information had a very serious intent or need to know about gold.
Harold P. Thomas and Family Papers
The material here is primarily personal and includes fragmentary correspondence from Springfield, Mass., and Lehigh University, and Bethlehem, Pa., involvements. There is a great deal of material about David: his baby books, a diary of his life that his mother kept, and many formal pictures and snapshots of him, as well as Harold and Louise.
