This is a charming collection of juvenile poetry and illustrations generally unknown in the body of children’s literature. The poetry is attributed to a Lehigh alumnus who graduated with a degree in metallurgy. The poetry seems to express the author’s fondness for nature and his family feelings.

Abstract This manuscript is a passport document for a schooner rigged ship named “Betsy” associated with the port of Marblehead, Massachusetts. This “ships letter” was issued in four languages under the authorization of President Thomas Jefferson with his original signature. It is a bill of lading of cargo the “Betsy” had in its hold passing through the customhouse in Marblehead with a cargo bound for Martinique in the year 1807. Abstract A unique record of soldiers of German origin who served the “United States” in the Continental Army under the command of Lt. Col. Ludwig Weltner from Frederick, Maryland as opposed to the German troops who served in the British Army. In May 1776 the Second Continental Congress established the Eighth Maryland Regiment, more popularly known as the German Regiment or German Battalion as an infantry unit.
