The collection is composed of 126 leaves of a typescript of a seminar taught by Edgar J. Fisher, on history of Turkey. The seminar took place in Robert College, Istanbul (currently Bogazici (Bosphorus) University), in January-May 1929. The typescript includes syllabus of the seminar, list of the members of The Study Club, the titles of weekly topics, and Edgar J. Fisher’s lecture notes.
This is the typescript first draft of Max Weston Thornburg's later book, Turkey, an Economical Appraisal. The letter/memorandum accompanying the draft indicates that Thornburg sent this first draft from Persian Gulf to Socony Oil Company's Board Director H. F. Sheets for his review. Mr. Sheets, note on the letter, passed the draft on Charles R. Wylie who was Socony Oil Company's Turkey representative for his opinion.
