James Decker Mack and the Writing of Matthew Flinders, 1774-1814
The material includes correspondence re the development and publication of Mack's book Matthew Flinders, 1774-1814. Melbourne: Nelson (Australia), 1966. It includes files on the publisher, Thomas Nelson & Sons, Ltd.; the American Philosophical Society, who gave Mack a grant to do research; & Sir Gavin de Beer-who arranged the grant. Also included are Mack's note cards for the book, arranged by date (1801-1814).

In the hard economic times between the World Wars, Mary Tompkins had risen to an secure position with Coca-Cola in Atlanta (Ga.) Her position at Coca-Cola established her as a source of financial support for her family during the interwar years and Depression Era until her siblings could support themselves. Later on, she married Lowry S. Danser, Lehigh Class of 1933 in 1939.
