Lehigh’s 150th Rivalry Football Game Memorabilia

Abstract

Lehigh and Lafayette played their 150th rivalry football game in Yankee Stadium, New York, N.Y. November 22, 2014. The reason being that in the early days of football at Lehigh beginning 1884, the football game rivalry between the two schools was played several times during the football season. The 150th game was hosted by the Lehigh New York Alumni Association. Lafayette won.

Abstract This collection consists of fourteen student conducted oral history projects related to Lehigh University. The course (History 303) was taught by Professor Kim Carrell-Smith in the Fall semester of 2003. Through the course, the students studied the standards of oral histories and as a final project, they interviewed Lehigh alumni, staff and faculty about Lehigh University, its history, traditions and experiences. Abstract

A collection of letters written in 1941 to Professor H.R. (Bosey) Reiter in response to his request to alumni for reminiscences of their undergraduate experiences in athletics. The material was to be used in a publication for the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the University, but there is no record that this was ever done. Responses came from graduates from the 1880s through the 1930s, including a few who also sent photographs.
