Asa and Sarah Packer Golden Wedding Anniversary Album, January 23, 1878
This is one of the few artifacts that exist at Lehigh of Asa Packer, Lehigh University’s founder. The album is a fabulous record of who was who during the Packer Family’s lifetime. The album reflects the importance and wealth that Asa and Sarah Packer had acquired during their life being with virtually only their own fortitude, hard work, and entrepreneurial endeavor.

Asa Packer Graphic Design Book Project
Asa Packer books designed and constructed by Lehigh University students as class projects called “Asa Packer Book Project” for their Graphic Design III taught by Professor Thom Lepley in the Spring of 2003-2004 and Fall of 2004-2005 academic years. Through this graphic design project, the students were to research and study artifacts and evidence of Asa Packer’s lifespan and then tell a unique story in a hand-bound artist book that would define Asa Packer and his legacy.

This collection contains material relating to the settlement of Harry Packer's estate, which was tied in with the settlement of Asa Packer's estate. He was the youngest son of Asa Packer, founder of Lehigh University.
Hardware Scrapbook
There is a two-fold interest in this item. The actual hardware illustrated within the catalogue that was utilized as a scrapbook for some Lehigh University newspaper articles appearing in many newspapers between 1907 to 1912. The hardware illustrated in the book is now of considerable interest to antique restoration. Much of the hardware reflects the Eastlake and Art Nouveau architectural styles. The newspaper articles feature many interesting features of Lehigh’s history.
Lehigh Coal and Navigation Company Maps from Library of William Arthur Lathrop, President of LCNC 1906-1912
The collection of 19 maps issued by the Pennsylvania Bureau of Mines details both the anthracite and bituminous coal fields of Pennsylvania in great detail.
Lehigh Valley Railroad Documents
Reflected in this collection is the bureaucracy of the Lehigh Valley Railroad Company from a train conductor’s view. The collection contains bulletins, supplements to bulletins, correspondence about operation of trains, train fares, schedules of train stations, time tables, conductor’s documentation of passengers’ destinations, tickets issued and material especially about the Black Diamond Express – the LVRR’s most famous train.
