Turkey, an Economical Appraisal, Typescript by Max Weston Thornburg
This is the typescript first draft of Max Weston Thornburg's later book, Turkey, an Economical Appraisal. The letter/memorandum accompanying the draft indicates that Thornburg sent this first draft from Persian Gulf to Socony Oil Company's Board Director H. F. Sheets for his review. Mr. Sheets, note on the letter, passed the draft on Charles R. Wylie who was Socony Oil Company's Turkey representative for his opinion.

Typography Scrapbook
A scrapbook with assorted samples of typography initial alphabet fonts, head and tail piece ornamentation of wood or copper engraving for the printing press. Some of the samples represent illustrations appearing on Confederate currency but most examples represent Victorian embellishments.

Varsity and Intramural Sports Files
Includes office files, correspondence, and lists of award winners from the Sports Office of Lehigh University from 1930-1980. Sports award winners are complete from 1939-1970. Flagpole Day Ceremony awards are complete from 1958-1977. Intramural files are primarily from the 1960s and 1970s. Also included is material from Car Rallyes, Turkey Trots, Emery Relay programs, and Beta Theta Pi Fraternity (Mr. Steckbeck was faculty advisor).
Ventilation Investigation Hudson River Vehicular Tunnel (Holland Tunnel)
A detailed pioneering engineering report determining the ventilation criteria for an underwater vehicular tunnel which became known as the Holland Tunnel. At its time of opening in 1927 the Holland Tunnel was known as the “eighth wonder of the world.”
Vinkovci, Croatia, Dam Construction Photograph Album: “The Contributions and Voluntary Work of the Citizens of Vinkovci built this Dam in 1953 to Serve the Economic and cultural improvement of our town and its surroundings…”
A photographic record of the construction of a small concrete dam by citizens of Vinkovci, Yugoslavia (now Croatia). It appears to have been created for propaganda purposes for the young and growing Yugoslavian Socialist movement. A number of photographs of the builders of the dam.
