Cramer Family Bible and Postcards
A curious collection of ephemera representative of Victorian era interests in collecting postcards and Bible studies. The Cramer Family lived in South Bethlehem, Pennsylvania at the end of the nineteenth century and early twentieth century.
Doolittle Family Bible, 1868
The Bible was originally acquired by a Lehigh University professor, Charles Leander Doolittle and his first wife, as a family Christmas gift. Professor Doolittle recorded family events in this book: marriages, births and deaths.The Bible contains interleaved ephemera and slips documenting important dates for the family. It also contains a draft an early poem written by Charles’ daughter, the novelist and poet, Hilda Doolittle (also known as HD).
Jeff Parks '70 Collection
A collection items, photographs, and documents donated by Jeff Parks, an attorney and community leader in Bethlehem. This includes Parks’ personal papers, particularly concerning MusikFest and Artsquest, both of which he was a founding member. The collection also contains memorabilia from his time at Lehigh. Parks also donated the research material for his book “Stronger than Steel” Also present are family items like Bibles, personal papers, and photo albums.
