During his stay he wrote many novels and short stories and was a prominent war correspondent during the Spanish-American War (1898). Silk Ribbon Textile Sample Book

Abstract

This notebook is a 135-silk ribbon collection assembled by an Allentown, Pennsylvania seamstress and milliner named Martha Miller Bander. It was likely made at the beginning of the twentieth century. The ribbons are a range of size, color, and texture.

South Mountain Forest Program Reports, 1957-1964

Abstract

Four progress reports describing a little known forestry project created by Bethlehem Steel Corporation during the late 1950s and 1960s on Bethlehem’s South Mountain in order to manage the woods for construction of a research center. The project was known as the South Mountain Research Center, later named as Homer Research Laboratories. The center was established to deal with timber management and land reclamation.

Abstract This collection depicts a pioneering field trip made in 1922 by Lehigh’s Mining Engineering department. It consists of 127 black and white photographs, one map, two letters, and three decorative album covers.
