Scope and Contents

(beautifully drawn and colored on ivory pebbled paper measures 33 x 25.5 cm). The heraldic device is a shield divided in half top to bottom; on left side is blue ground divided by white band with five black spots (possibly implying ermine) with narrow silver, black and gold bands on either side of broad white band above the dividing band are two ibex heads and below one ibex head in pale tan color; right side of shield has gold ground divided into quarters by a black and red cross engrailed in white. On top of shield stands an ibex colored in shades of tan on top of curled foliage with reddish brown vines springing from among the foliage. The bottom of shield is embraced by palm fronds on either side with reddish brown vines and ends of each frond drawn to appear as if it was cut at an angle.
