Mr. Ringer offered to those who spare time to continue in German and French, Richard decides to continue French; newspapers got hold of a report of a hazing incident and Faculty got hold of it and suspended two for one year, Palmer ‘79 because of previous scrapes among those most severely punished Jeter ’79, Lehrs ’80 suspended and Thomas ’80 shipped out – great loss to Class, his room was broken into during Summer 1877 October 3 Saucon Hall telegraph Co. re: “On admitting Strong and Sargent. Tucker reporting that Richard has been before the Faculty for 10 unexcused absences and that 20 will cause dismission, in his classes his standing is high and his general deportment is excellent 1878 May 9 H.
