STUDY OF OPEN HEARTH PLANTS – BETHLEHEM STEEL CO. 1945 (This bound book of steel plant blueprints was given as a gift to Lehigh University library by Joseph T. Rea (Lehigh University Class of 1919) around Aug. 25 1947. It was cataloged as 669.1 S933 2473314). This book (27 x 35 ½ cm) is bound in dark red buckram and contains 27 blueprint pages of Pennsylvania steel mills such as: Lukens Iron & Steel in Coatesville, PA Building by McClintic Marshall Co., South Sharon Works, U.S. Steel Corp., Homestead Plant Nov. 1905, Cambria Steel Co., Nov. 1905, Duquense Plant U.S. Steel Corp. Nov. 1905, Central Steel Co. Harrisburg, PA., Clairton Steel Works U.S. Steel Corp. Nov. 1905, Donora Steel Works U.S. Steel Nov. 1905, Worth Bros. Coatesville PA. Among the pages are blueprint plans of the special features of the steel mills as well a handwritten descriptions of the mills. Many of the plans have a November 1905 date.
