Biographical / Historical
Robert William Courtney came from New Jersey. He graduated from Lehigh University in the Class of 1950 with a BS degree in Business Administration. He received a Masters of Education in 1958 from Rutgers University. He was a principal in the Somerville, N.J. school district. He was very involved in his Class’s Alumni Fund campaigns receiving several service awards through the years for his efforts. He married Barbara Ross a graduate of Cedar Cress College Class of 1948 and a graduate of Bethlehem High School/Liberty High School Class of 1944. They had four sons and a daughter. His brother, Howard Wright Courtney, Jr. a member of Lehigh’s Class of 1944 died March 21, 1945. Robert Courtney died in 2009. His wife predeceased him.
