Scope and Contents
The collection was compiled by Bernhard Fortmann and donated to Lehigh University by Peter Fortmann. This collection contains photographs, certificates, magazines, newspaper clippings, a book about Asa Packer, and some other materials such as a 50 cent from 1862.

Biographical / Historical
Bernhard Fortmann was born on November 10, 1983 in Hillsdale, NJ. Fortmann attended Lehigh University as an Industrial Engineer major in the class of 1934. After college, Fortmann worked at Curtiss Wright Corporation and then at Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation\ both in Connecticut. Fortmann passed away on June 4, 2012.
