Abstract
Jacob Blaustein (1892-1970) was a Lehigh University student who was a member of the class of 1913. He left prior to graduating in order to help his father run the new business, the American Oil Company, created in 1910. Blaustein eventually became an industrialist, diplomat, and philanthropist. Blaustein organized a series of lectures beginning in 1965, which brought annually a statesman of renown to speak about an international topic. The folders include but are not restricted to excerpts of the lectures given over the years, personal letters between Morton Blaustein, the son of Jacob Blaustein, and Lehigh University faculty and staff at the time, specifically Carey Joynt, the professor of International Relations and the president of the university, Deming Lewis. There are a large number of significant people mentioned throughout the documents.
