Biographical / Historical
Joseph King Jr. was born July 21, 1939 in Montoursville, Pennsylvania. King earned a bachelor’s degree in Engineering Mechanics from Lehigh University in 1961 and then went on to obtain a master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1965. After obtaining his degrees, he worked at United Technologies Corp. for 40 years, retiring in 2001, and continued to work as a consultant following his retirement. He was also involved with the Alumni Association at Lehigh University and cahired the alumni awards commmittee. Joseph King Jr. died on May 11, 2010 at the age of 70.
